I was introduced to the joys of antiques and collectibles at an early age by my father and began to seriously collect vintage clothes and home-wares in my teens; something which I've yet to grow out of!
I'm a keen knitter with a penchant for collecting vintage patterns and when my ability allows, knitting from them. I also have an interest in British social history especially that associated with World War II and the Home Front, and the post-war years.
Not only do I like to wear and furnish my house with vintage, I also like to drive vintage too, being a proud owner of a 1971 Morris Minor 1000 called 'Archie'.
The above interests have led me into freelance writing for vintage lifestyle magazines since 2013. My first book, Vintage Knitting, was published in May 2015 and celebrates the Make Do and Mend ethos of WWII and includes facsimiles of a selection of original knitting patterns from 1941.
