Spring Flowers

The rain has given the garden a bit of a battering, which has caused the larger flowers like the poppies, peonies and roses to loose their petals and look rather forlorn unlike the proud specimens they were a few days ago.

I decided to rescue some and this morning picked some peonies, angelica, roses, purple elder and sweet williams and arranged them in a Beryl Ware jug. The peonies especially looked worthy of a photo, so here it is:

  2. Totally luscious - I love peonies; hankering after a red one once I find some space in the wilderness that is my garden.

  8. Gorgeous flowers and well saved from the rain! I wish I could grow peonies, but they never do well in my little garden, so I'll have to make do with pictures like yours instead!

  11. Your little jug of peonies looks just beautiful. my lovley red peonies succumbed to the wind and rain weeks ago. It's such a shame when the weather destroys the flowers you've nurtured just when they are at their peak.
