Dapper Knits for Dashing Chaps
Its a lovely little bit of knitting history and the pattern descriptions are so of the time. Here's a couple for you:
This is the kind of cardigan that the head of the house simply revels in, for it is cosy and warm, very mannish in style, and makes a good lounge jacket for wear when he settles down to an evening with his pipe and paper.
My favourite is: There is nothing quite so comfortable and efficient as a pair of hand knitted stockings for the man who is a golf enthusiast or one who likes a good country tramp.
